What information do I need for a buildings insurance quotation?

The rebuild cost of your buildings including outbuildings etc and demolition costs, solicitors and surveyors fees. A guide can be obtained by visiting http://www.abi.org.uk/.

What information do I need for a contents quotation?

The new for old value of all household goods within the property (a wear and tear deduction is made for clothing and linen).

Do I need public liability insurance?

Yes - your property is commercially let and this cover is essential to protect against claims made for injury to a guest or damage to their property.
Our policy provides cover of £5million.

Are domestic staff covered by employers liability insurance?

Yes, our policy includes cover up to £10million.

Is accidental damage cover included?

Buildings insurance automatically includes accidental damage. Contents insurance normally includes accidental damage but a quotation without accidental damage can be provided if required.

Is theft cover provided?

Full theft cover without the necessity of security requirements is normally provided, including theft by the guest.

What cover is provided when the property is unoccupied?

Full cover is provided subject to the public services (gas/electric/water) being turned off and the water system drained or a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Centigrade) being maintained if the property is unoccupied for more than 7 days during the period 1st October - 31st March.

Am I covered for loss of income?

Yes - if the property becomes uninhabitable due to fire or certain other perils and you cannot let your property - our policy provides up to £25,000 cover for your loss of income.

How much do I have to pay in the event of a claim?

Normally the first £100 of each claim increased to £1000 for subsidence claims.

Is there a no claims discount?

No claims discount can be built up over a period of three years. We can also offer discount for first time owners if you are claim free on your main residence insurance.

How quickly can I arrange cover?

Immediate cover can be arranged subject to payment of premium.
